The national football team of Russia is controlled by the Football Union of Russia and affiliated with UEFA. Guus Hiddink is currently managing the team. It was 1911 when the first representative international match between England and Russia took place in what was then the capital of Tsarist Russia,St Petersburg.
Now, with respect to the performance of Russian team according to World Cup Football, so Russia were in Group 5 for the qualification campaign for the 1994 Football World Cup which consisted of Greece, Iceland, Hungary and Luxembourg.
